Aboutthe Network & Cable Decommissioning Team
The Network & Cable Decommissioning team (NCD) is looking to hire a highly motivated, self‑driven decommissioning technician who will work closely with project managers, network engineers, and operations teams to recover cabling infrastructure and sanitize legacy abandoned cable. The NCD Tech will be responsible for executing assigned efforts and communicating status updates of those tasks. The team’s primary focus is to reclaim capacity for customers by safely removing decommissioned legacy network equipment and old cabling infrastructure, thus enabling a life cycle approach for the physical layer of our data center network.
Key Job Responsibilities- Physical decommissioning of cable infrastructure in a data center environment.
- Manage assigned work and priorities through ticketing system and/or workflows.
- Provide status updates to stakeholders via ticketing system.
- Effectively coordinate and deliver multiple tasks concurrently.
- Exhibit quality workmanship on all work and maintain data center cleanliness.
- Effectively leverage the logical tools and systems that are provided.
- Follow all production, safety and quality standards, codes and industry best practices.
- Collaborate with various stakeholders to remove obstacles.
- Read and comprehend data center build documentation, and site‑specific layout material.
- Travel within geographical work area is required, up to 25% travel outside traditional work area may be required depending on your primary region.
- Scope effort assigned, validate all work is ready for decommissioning, create change requests to perform work, and timely execute effort that has been assigned.
- Document all efforts via ticketing system.
- Be comfortable working at heights, including on ladders, scaffolding, and aerial lifts, while adhering to all safety protocols.
- 1+ years of computer hardware repair, infrastructure cabling, network deployment, data center operations, or technical project management experience.
- Understanding of decommissioning hardware/software and procedures.
- Can work in cramped spaces or in elevated locations while adhering to health & safety guidelines.
- Experience dealing effectively with customers during problem resolution and operating efficiently under pressure.
- Experience managing work and priorities through a ticketing system.
- Up to 20% travel may be required.

Base salary range: USA, VA, Herndon - 30.00 - 54.00 USD hourly. Your Amazon package will include sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
