Cleared ADC Engineer
The Amazon Dedicated Cloud (ADC), AWS for Government, Storage Services team is hiring a cleared ADC Engineer to join the team. This is an exciting opportunity to use the latest cloud computing technologies to help U.S. Government agencies implement innovative cloud computing solutions and solve technical problems.
In this role, you will join a team of highly talented engineers operating Amazon Elastic File System (EFS), Amazon FSx, Amazon S3 on Outposts, and Amazon MQ services that host some of our customers' most sensitive data. This is a great opportunity to have direct impact to some of the largest-scaled systems in the world and work with some of the smartest people in the industry, while having a huge impact.
A successful ADC engineer should be focused on troubleshooting complex system operations, not just on a server level but enterprise wide. Additionally, you will take part and be responsible for building exciting new features for these services - further enabling our customers' mission. You should also have a solid foundation in multiple operating systems, networking and general knowledge of cloud services.
You will work with Amazon's largest and most demanding customers to address specific needs across a full suite of services. You will dive deep into technical issues and work diligently to improve the customer experience.
This position requires that the candidate selected must currently possess and maintain an active TS/SCI with polygraph security clearance. The position further requires that, after start, the selected candidate obtain and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph or commensurate clearance for each government agency for which they perform AWS work.
Key job responsibilities include:
- Deep diving to root cause a customer issue
- Investigating why a metric is trending the wrong way
- Consulting with the top engineers at Amazon
- Discussing radical new approaches to automate operational issues

Basic qualifications include:
- High school or equivalent diploma, or A+ or CND (Certified Network Defender) or Network+ or Security+
- 1+ years of Linux systems administration and/or development experience
- 1+ years of technical support experience
- 1+ years of networking and troubleshooting experience
- Current, active US Government Security Clearance of TS/SCI with Polygraph
Preferred qualifications include:
- Experience with distributed systems at scale
- Experience with service-oriented architecture and web services
- Experience with systems administration on either Linux/UNIX or Windows operating systems
