Overview
AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. The role is to manage end‑to‑end network infrastructure delivery for new data centers across the AMER region, ensuring safety, scheduling, standards, and implementation are completed on time with zero rework. The Build Manager leads a team of network engineers and works closely with engineering and operations to innovate and optimize deployments, set new records for cycle time, quality, and staff efficiency, and maintain capital efficiency.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and manage a highly qualified team of network engineers to deliver network infrastructure builds.
- Own planning, configuration, and deployment of network infrastructure in new AWS data centers.
- Drive strategies to innovate, optimize, and maintain operational excellence in tools and processes.
- Ensure safety, scheduling, and standards compliance for all build activities.
- Collaborate with engineering and operations teams on new solutions and designs.
- Manage people, resources, and structure to stay ahead of capacity demands.
- 1+ years of computer networking experience.
- 2+ years of experience in computer hardware repair, infrastructure cabling, network deployment, data center operations, or technical project management.
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 1+ years of Linux operating systems experience.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 49 pounds for short distances.
- Comfortable working in cramped spaces or on elevated locations while adhering to health & safety guidelines.
- Experience managing work and priorities through a ticketing system.
- Experience with cabling infrastructure best practices and methodologies.
