Job Description & How to Apply Below

Senior Security Solutions Architect , AWS Global Government SA Specialists

Job :  | Amazon Web Services, Inc.

Are you passionate about helping Government Customers secure their mission data using AWS cloud computing services with a special focus on information security and compliance? Do you have a unique combination of deep technical knowledge, business acumen and strong interpersonal skills? Do you like helping government leaders think through how to secure services in the AWS Cloud?

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a security solutions architect to work with some of our largest Public Sector customers. At AWS, customer obsession is in our DNA. The successful candidate will become a trusted advisor to our customers and will work with AWS Global Government sales, business development, solutions architecture and product teams to develop the security and compliance expertise needed to deliver results.

In this vital role, you will help customers achieve their mission goals on AWS by identifying and tackling major security risk, and compliance questions from stakeholders in areas such as Identity, Data Protection, Network Security, and Generative AI. You will work directly with customer security, engineering, audit, risk and compliance teams to help them understand how to confidently use AWS.

This position requires that the candidate selected be a US Citizen and obtain and maintain an active Top Secret security clearance.

Key Job Responsibilities
  • Work with AWS Strategic customers to convey cloud computing security, compliance, and risk management best practices
  • Provide subject matter expertise on security topics including identity, data protection, network security, and agent-based AI
  • Design and Build working proof-of-concept architectures to tackle emerging security challenges
  • Develop technical content, such as white papers and reference architectures, that can be used by our customers to assist them in deploying secure and compliant cloud-based solutions
  • Provide mentorship across AWS sales and solutions architecture teams regarding Security and Identity to build skills in the field
  • Work with customers to better understand compliance models in the cloud
  • Represent AWS at trade events by delivering presentations and workshops
Day in the Life

An AWS Security Specialist SA is the deep-domain security expert for the Global Government sales leaders. Day-to-day, you design secure architectures with customers, build proof-of-concepts using services like Security Hub and Guard Duty, deliver hands‑on workshops, and respond to specialist requests from field teams.

A major part of the role is scaling through others—training generalist SAs to lead security conversations independently—and producing thought leadership like blog posts and reference architectures. The philosophy: security is an enabling function, not a blocker. Success means customers are more secure and the field is more self‑sufficient.

Basic Qualifications
  • 8+ years of specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics) experience
  • 3+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures experience
  • 10+ years of IT development or implementation/consulting in the software or Internet industries experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • 5+ years of infrastructure architecture, database architecture and networking experience
  • Cloud Technology Certification (such as Solutions Architecture, Cloud Security Professional or Cloud Dev Ops Engineering)
  • Experience in information security and compliance
  • Experience architecting, securing, and operating Amazon Web Services
  • Experience working with customers with a passion for delivering exceptional service, or experience that includes strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities
