As a Data Engineer, you will:
- Design data models, build data warehouses and lakes, and automate data pipelines.
- Optimize data flow by reducing redundancy and ensuring accessibility within security boundaries.
- Apply ETL techniques to connect large data sets from diverse sources.
- Create data collection frameworks for structured and unstructured data.
- Build cyber and operational analytic tools to assist consumers in building and optimizing downstream products.
- Develop and enforce standards, tools, processes, and governance for capturing, modeling, storing, and delivering data.
We are actively seeking Systems Engineers to perform as a Data Engineer with a minimum of 11 years' experience. Information Technology or Engineering bachelor’s or master’s degrees are preferred. Specific skills include:
- Experience integrating diverse data streams.
- Experience with data transfer tools (e.g., NiFi, Cribl).
- Establishing data standards and acting as custodian of IT and service delivery data sets and streams.
- Experience analyzing complex networks and systems.
- Experience analyzing log data from various network components and operating systems.
- Knowledge of complex environments involving shared networks and multiple security enclaves.
- Systems Engineer with Data Engineer background.
- Ability to manage and troubleshoot data feeds.
- Splunk familiarity.
- Python proficiency.
- Security Development and Operations (Sec Dev Ops ).
- Hands‑on Splunk experience and certifications.
- Scripting tools including Python, Shell Script, or Ansible.
- Cloud security controls and implementation.
- Public, private, and hybrid cloud experience (AWS, Microsoft Azure, etc.).
- AWS Certified Security Specialty.
- Estimated salary range in the Washington, DC metropolitan area: $175,000 – $195,000 (final compensation based on experience, education, location, and contractual requirements).
