Our World Wide Public Sector (WWPS) team seeks an AI & Emerging Tech Specialist to drive the adoption of AI and emerging technologies for US Defense and Intelligence customers. The candidate will work closely with AWS account teams, partners, and customer executives to develop mission‑driven use cases and shape the go‑to‑market strategy for generative AI, foundation models, AI governance, Data Ops, MLOps, and other emerging capabilities.

This role requires the successful applicant to be a US Citizen with an active Top Secret security clearance at the time of application. After selection the candidate must obtain and maintain an active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph and satisfy all other relevant security requirements.

Key Job Responsibilities
  • Prospect new AI and emerging technology customers by working closely with AWS account teams and partners to identify mission‑driven use cases for generative AI, agentic AI, model‑learning at the edge, quantum, and other emerging capabilities.
  • Serve as a subject‑matter expert in AI and emerging technologies, providing specialized sales guidance, technical enablement, and thought leadership to account teams and customers.
  • Meet regularly with national security executives and mission owners to understand their mission requirements, existing architectures, and technology roadmaps, and introduce AWS AI, data, analytics, and emerging technology services that accelerate mission outcomes.
  • Negotiate and close large, complex AI and emerging technology opportunities, working across multiple agencies and buying centers to drive adoption at scale.
  • Collaborate with Amazon business leaders, customer account teams, engineering leaders, professional services, and program managers to align emerging technology solutions with customer mission needs.
  • Represent the voice of the customer, bringing feedback to product teams and leading curation of custom feature requests, regional availability requirements, and unique mission use cases across classified and unclassified environments.
  • Identify opportunities for marketing and public‑policy engagements that position AWS as a trusted partner for AI and emerging technologies in the national‑security community.
  • Leverage defense and professional associations to establish AWS as a thought and industry leader in AI and emerging technologies, deepening customer intimacy, nurturing partner relationships, developing new partnerships, and uncovering new opportunities.
A Day in the Life

This highly dynamic role typically involves 2–3 morning meetings with agency executives, program officers, and builders, followed by internal strategy or working sessions with Nat Sec account teams, service teams, or professional services.

Basic Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience in a technology sales or business‑development role selling cloud, AI/ML, or emerging‑technology solutions to US Government customers.
  • Experience working cross‑functionally with account teams, engineering, professional services, or partner ecosystems to deliver integrated technology solutions in complex or regulated environments.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience.
  • Current, active US Government security clearance of Top Secret or above.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience selling AI/ML or emerging‑technology solutions to US Defense or Intelligence Community customers.
  • Experience engaging C‑suite or senior government executives to drive adoption of cloud‑based or AI/ML solutions, including developing go‑to‑market strategies aligned to customer mission requirements.
  • Familiarity with Data Ops, MLOps, or AI governance best practices in classified or regulated environments.
  • Experience interpreting data and making business recommendations.
  • Experience developing, negotiating, and executing business agreements.

Compensation includes a base salary range of $92,400.00–$ USD annually, sign‑on payments, restricted stock units, sales incentives, and a benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, life insurance, 401(k) matching, paid time off, and parental leave.
