IT Project Manager, Change Management
Role Overview
Description The Amazon Web Services Professional Services (Pro Serve) team is seeking a Principal Engagement Manager to lead the delivery of our largest and most complex Healthcare and Life Sciences (HCLS) transformation programs. In this role, you will lead delivery quality and velocity for programs spanning several concurrent work streams, orchestrating 50+ person teams of AWS builders, partners, and customers to deliver transformational AI, data, and enterprise modernization outcomes for the world's leading HCLS organizations.
Your objective will be to deliver distinctive customer business outcomes and experience, including re-designing software development processes to become AI-native end-to-end ("AI-DLC"). Successful candidates will bring exceptional stakeholder orchestration and relationship-building skills, intrinsic problem-solving ability to proactively shape program direction, anticipate and mitigate risks, and actively manage interdependencies, with the ability to influence customers and partners when program success demands it.
This is an opportunity to shape the future of the industry directly through hands-on transformation leadership.
The AWS Professional Services organization is a global team of experts that help customers realize their desired business outcomes when using AWS services. We work together with customer teams and the AWS Partner Network (APN) to execute enterprise cloud computing and AI transformation initiatives. This role requires approximately 50% co-location on site with customer, AWS and partner teams within the U.S.
Key Responsibilities- Build and nurture trusted executive relationships (VP+), delivering strategic counsel on program direction, health, risks, and trade-offs to inform executive decisions
- Proactively manage interdependencies, mitigate risks, and drive accountability for program outcomes in ambiguous, fast-changing environments
- Orchestrate across customer lines of business, IT, and partner teams simultaneously, aligning stakeholders on priorities, timelines, and definitions of success, and escalate blockers where necessary for resolution
- Define and track measurable customer business outcomes (e.g., time-to-market acceleration) as the north star for program success, translating delivery progress into executive-ready value narratives that demonstrate ROI
- Own the program financial health, including forecasting, revenue recognition, commercial management, change request negotiation, and scope management for fixed-price, milestone-based delivery constructs
- Influence human builder and agent builder teams, establishing clear operating models and responsible AI guardrails as AI-augmented workflows are incorporated
- Drive adoption of AI-DLC methodologies across delivery programs, adapting delivery models and team structures for accelerated scale and pace, and establishing governance frameworks for AI-native builds
- Establish and enforce governance frameworks for agentic AI in delivery — including observability, cost controls, human-in-the-loop checkpoints, and compliance guardrails — ensuring AI-augmented workflows remain auditable, secure, and aligned with customer regulatory requirements (e.g., HIPAA, GxP)
- Proactively surface ideas on how Pro Serve and other AWS teams can innovate to help customers achieve goals at faster pace and larger scale
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience
- 8+ years of experience in technology transformation program management, including 5+ years leading complex, multi-workstream delivery programs ($10M+/year in professional services revenue) end-to-end
- 3+ years of experience in the healthcare and/or life sciences industry
- Experience with fixed-price, milestone-based delivery models with emphasis on scope management, risk mitigation, and financial discipline
- Experience adopting and championing emerging delivery methodologies and tooling that accelerate team productivity, including governance frameworks for new technology-driven delivery models
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect, GenAI Practitioner, and/or Cloud Practitioner, or…
