Region Services Corporate Infrastructure (RSCI) is looking for an experienced Tech Lead;
Windows Client Systems Engineer with a deep knowledge of Windows desktop services, including virtual desktops and infrastructure. Our mission is to deliver robust, highly available, and easy to use services to our internal customers in support of the Amazon Dedicated Cloud for U.S. Government customers. The role is hands‑on and involves maintaining and enhancing existing services, including Windows build / deployment capabilities, packaging / deployment requests, and break‑fix scenarios across all technologies the team manages.
You will work closely with the Security Compliance team to ensure security compliance with all desktop environments.
- Oversee deployment, configuration, and management of core ADC services, including directory services, file and print, DNS/DHCP, application servers, and management of server/workstation hardware and infrastructure.
- Drive team initiatives across the Vector vertical and across Region Services, partnering with Vector Security, Amazon Security, and other AWS internal business units.
- Maintain and enhance existing Windows build and deployment capabilities.
- Fulfill application packaging, deployment, and break‑fix requests for all technologies managed by the team.
- Collaborate with the Security Compliance team to ensure all desktop environments meet security requirements.
- Design, create, adapt, and improve operations management systems and processes to accommodate rapid and increasing growth.
- Drive expedient resolution and root‑cause analysis for critical issues affecting services.
- Mentor and develop a team of Operational Engineers.
- Lead the development and delivery of state‑of‑the‑art system health monitoring, diagnostics, repair, and other self‑healing automation.
- Develop automation tools and processes to reduce manual effort and increase overall efficiency.
- Innovate and drive improvements in monitoring and visualization of system health, maintenance task status, and reporting systems.
- Associate’s degree or above, or Cloud+ or GICSP, GSEC, or SSCP.
- 7+ years supporting Windows family of operating systems, including at least four of the following eight core competencies: AD, DHCP, Power Shell, Email workflow, SCCM, GPO, Win OS, DNS, and disaster recovery/business continuity.
- 2+ years of Technical Lead experience within the Windows Domain.
- 3+ years of automation/scripting experience in the Windows environment using Power Shell.
- Experience creating automation tasks such as software packaging and deployment, automated security patching, and operating system deployment.
- Current active U.S. Government Security Clearance of TS/SCI with Polygraph.
- Master’s degree in Engineering, Information Technology, or related technical discipline.
- 10+ years supporting Windows family of operating systems.
