Overview

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is a fast paced technology company and a leader in data centers. We are expanding our infrastructure management team within AWS and are seeking a proven technology manager with experience in people management, robust technical understanding, and the drive to advance AWS Data Center Operations. The successful candidate will create sustainable processes and standards and drive automation opportunities to reduce delivery cycle times and improve quality without impacting network availability.

The mission of the team is to deliver network capacity on time with zero rework. The Infrastructure Delivery Manager will manage the implementation and delivery of inbound capacity and equipment, oversee team development, mentor staff, track budgets, provide strategic direction, and propose technical solutions. This role is responsible for installing and delivering network equipment and related infrastructure, and for driving low‑voltage structured cabling across the AWS data center platform.

• Prioritize and assign tasks to data center technicians and operators, manage projects, coach staff, and create documentation.
• Manage inbound capacity from receiving through deployment stages.
• Oversee the installation of network and cabling infrastructure in a data center environment.
• Guide, train, and educate staff on best practices related to all service owner issues.
• Manage tasks and deliverables across small to large projects.
• Recommend, document, and oversee policies and procedures to meet industry best practices and SLAs.
• Provide weekly reports to the data center manager.
• Coordinate team resources to support project and delivery needs, including emergency projects, change management and maintenance windows, and potential off‑hours/on‑call work.
• Recruit and train data technicians to ensure appropriate staffing levels.
• Host weekly staff meetings and drive compliance with Amazon performance management requirements.
• Conduct daily in‑person safety inspections, meetings, and operational tasks across Northern Virginia data center locations; in‑person attendance at weekly regional manager staff meetings may be required.

• Bachelor degree or equivalent experience in an industry role
• 2+ years of data center engineering or operations experience
• 2+ years of team management experience
• 2+ years of networking experience (DNS, DHCP, SSL, OSI model, TCP/IP)

• 6+ years in a data center technology role
• Experience building physical data center infrastructure such as copper/fiber cabling
• Experience developing operational metrics to drive efficiencies
• Experience representing your team/technical area to senior management
• Experience contributing to automation opportunities within deployment/build environments
• Experience with lean methodologies and Six Sigma or similar qualifications
• Strong organizational and planning skills
• Broad understanding of infrastructure technologies installation and design
• Knowledge of network cabling, optic types, and test equipment
• Meets/exceeds Amazon leadership principles requirements for this role
• Meets/exceeds Amazon functional/technical depth and complexity for this role

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
