At GCI, we solve the hard problems. As a Cloud Engineer SME, a typical day will include the following duties:
Work Requirements
* Ability to design, develop, and deploy modular cloud-based systems.

* Experience in developing software using languages such as Java, Python.

* Excellent programming skills to ensure the proper interpretation and implementation of code.

* Documented experience working with data and relational mapping.

* Identify, analyze, and resolve infrastructure vulnerabilities and application deployment issues.

* Regularly review existing systems and make recommendations for improvements and cost efficiencies.

* Develop and maintain cloud solutions in accordance with customer best practices and guidance.

* Demonstrated experience working with Agile Scrum based development team.

* Interact with clients, provide cloud support, and make recommendations based on customer needs.

* Experience with Dev Ops/Platforms:
Amazon Web Services (S3, RDS, EC2, ECS, Lambda, SQS, SNS, Cloud Formation, etc.), Docker, Ansible.

* Documented experience with open-source technology, software development and system engineering.

* Demonstrated experience utilizing Dev Ops tools, such as Git Hub and Jenkins, to enable continuous integration and continuous delivery.

* Strong understanding of web services, API, REST.

* Demonstrated experience working with Agile Scrum based development team.
Desired

Skills:

* Familiar with Assessment & Authorization process and associated artifact collection process.

* Familiarization with Hadoop distributed file systems (HDFS).

* Background utilizing JIRA for documentation and tracking of software development tasks.
