Data Specialist Solutions Architect, National Security Specialists Solutions Architecture Team

Amazon Web Services is seeking a Solutions Architect to support our US Government customers in the DC Metro area.

Do you like helping U.S. Intelligence Community agencies implement innovative cloud computing solutions and solve technical problems? Do you have a knack for helping these groups understand application architectures and integration approaches, and the consultative and leadership skills to launch a project on a trajectory to success? This position requires that the candidate selected be a US Citizen and obtain and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph.

• Be a subject matter expert on AWS data services including Glue, Athena, Redshift, and Open Search for our Account teams and customers.
• Have experience in architecture, design, and engineering of data platforms and Data Ops solutions.
• Represent the voice of the customer; bring customer feedback to product teams to influence feature development and future product roadmap.
• Provide advanced technical knowledge to unblock our customers’ largest and most critical business challenges.
• Have the technical depth and business experience to deploy data strategies.
• Act as a thought leader sharing best practices through forums such as AWS blogs, whitepapers, reference architectures and public‑speaking events such as AWS Summit, AWS re:
  
  Invent, etc.
• Partner with Sales Specialist teams to define the technical components of best‑in‑class GTM concepts, solutions, and initiatives.
• Develop and support an AWS internal community of technical subject matter experts worldwide.
• Create field enablement materials for the broader SA population, to help them understand how to integrate Amazon Web Services solutions into customer architectures.

• 2+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructure experience
• 4+ years of specific technology domain areas (e.g., software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics) experience
• 5+ years of IT development or implementation/consulting in the software or Internet industries experience
• Bachelor's degree, or CASP+ (CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner) or CCSP (Certified Cloud Security Professional) or Cloud+ or CSSLP (Certified Secure Software Lifecycle Professional)
• Current, active US Government Security Clearance of TS/SCI with Polygraph

• Experience in technology/software sales, pre‑sales, or consulting
• AWS certification, such as AWS Solutions Architect, or a similar cloud certification
• Presentation skills with a high degree of comfort speaking with executives, IT Management, and developers and strong written communication skills
• Experience working with enterprise scale data platforms
• Familiarity with data modeling concepts
• Familiarity with GenAI Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) and Machine Learning (ML)
