Job Description

Parsons is seeking a Vice President of Mission Engagement to join our High Consequence Missions (HCM) Growth Team. This senior leadership role is designed for a proven leader from the Department of Defense (DoD) and/or Intelligence Community (IC) with a track record of building trusted customer relationships and creating new opportunities that lead to contract wins
.

The VP of Mission Engagement serves as the front door to the mission and the customer
, accountable for identifying and “making” new opportunities through disciplined pipeline development, customer engagement, and shaping.
Success in this role is measured by customer satisfaction, quality of pipeline, and contract wins.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Serve as the senior mission-facing leader, building and sustaining trusted, long-term customer relationships across the DoD and Intelligence Community.
  • Lead a team of senior, customer-facing growth leaders responsible for pipeline development, opportunity identification, and shaping
    .
  • Develop deep understanding of customer missions, priorities, timelines, constraints, and acquisition strategies
    .
  • Identify, prioritize, and shape high-quality, mission-aligned opportunities with clear paths to win.
  • Drive early positioning, customer sponsorship, and requirement influence to improve probability of win.
  • Own who (customers), when (timing of engagements and investments), and why (alignment to strategy, customer needs and win probability).
  • Partner closely with the VP of Mission Engineering to transition shaped opportunities into qualified, winnable, mission-grounded pursuits
    .
  • Impose rigor, prioritization, and accountability across customer engagement, ensuring activity translates directly into qualified pipeline and awards
    .
  • Lead executive engagement and shaping for multiple large, strategic pursuits ($100M+).
  • Identify and qualify contracts with new and adjacent customers, and new and adjacent programs and mission needs.
  • Act as a visible ambassador for Parsons in mission and industry forums to strengthen credibility, trust, and customer satisfaction

  • Technical & Solution Development Leadership, including the CTO, Technical Directors, and Solution Architects
What Required Skills You’ll Bring
  • Persistent problem solver with a tenacious drive to win and a strong mission-first mindset.
  • 15+ years of leadership experience within the DoD or Intelligence Community in roles including:
    • Business Development or Capture Leadership
    • Mission, Program, or Portfolio Leadership
    • Operational, Command, or Senior Staff Roles
  • Demonstrated ability to build trusted customer relationships and deliver measurable growth outcomes tied to contract wins
    .
  • Exceptional communication skills: responsive, articulate, organized, and credible with senior leaders.
  • Proven ability to influence requirements, acquisition strategies, and customer priorities.
  • Deep understanding of customer missions and competitive dynamics across:
    • U.S. Military Services (Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, Space Force)
    • Combatant Commands (INDOPACOM, EUCOM, CENTCOM, AFRICOM, SOUTHCOM, NORTHCOM, SOCOM, SPACECOM, CYBERCOM, STRATCOM)
    • Intelligence Centers (NGIC, MSIC, NASIC, ONI)
    • Intelligence Community (CIA, NSA, NRO, DIA and mission centers)
  • Familiarity with structured capture and business development methodologies (e.g., Shipley) and demonstrated ability to rapidly adopt disciplined pursuit processes.
  • Domain expertise in one or more of:
    Electronic Warfare, Cyber, Sensor-to-Shooter, Hardware/Platform Integration, or Special Operations
    .
  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
  • TS/SCI clearance required.
  • Travel: 10–20%.
