AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support all AWS data centers and the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure customer access to the innovation they rely on. You will join a diverse team of engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, and operations managers to deliver safety, security, and capacity at low cost for customers.

• Lead project teams of discipline leads to deliver quality and globally consistent data center designs across the Americas within schedule and cost constraints while maintaining a high level of quality.
• Able to influence internal stakeholders, internal customers (operations), and external consultants to address program‑wide design changes.
• Manage escalations from the design team and collaborate with procurement, construction, and external consultants.
• Effectively communicate with AWS Leadership and project partners, including creation, tracking, and reporting of metrics related to schedule, cost, and quality throughout the lifecycle.
• Think outside the box to find innovative solutions prior to and during construction to reduce contract change orders without negative impacts on quality or reliability.
• Drive speed, quality, and simplification by eliminating rework loops, reducing and automating manual work and hand‑offs, identifying and implementing best practices, and minimizing process variability through standardization and automation.
• Create global best‑practice documentation and facilitate sharing across the globe.
• Motivate others to achieve impeccable quality in a growth and deadline‑driven environment.
• Travel for site assessments, internal design meetings, construction reviews, and interfacing with design consultants (anticipated travel not to exceed 25 %; international travel may be needed).

• 6 + years of industrial or commercial engineering in mission‑critical facilities (data centers, power generation, or oil and gas).
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Structural, Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering.
• Experience in project management or consulting, handling multiple ongoing projects.
• Experience in life‑cycle design projects from strategy through execution.

• Professional Engineering or Architectural License.
• Knowledge of building codes and regulations for your region.
• Experience carrying design concepts through exploration, development, and deployment or mass production.
• Experience reading, interpreting, and creating construction drawings, specifications, and submittal documents.
• 6 + years of data center design, construction, operations, or facility maintenance experience.

Base salary: US$ – US$ annually (USA, VA, Herndon and USA, WA, Seattle).
