Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS)has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Quality Engineer to join our Quality team located in Herndon, VA
.
This role will focus on supporting multiple Programs within the Intelligence Systems portfolio, with oversight of compliance to Boeing and industry related Quality requirements. The Quality Engineer (QE) will ensure that the programs adhere to Boeing's requirements and provide quality interpretation. Primary duties will include:
- Develops Quality metrics, design, and production certification plans for small programs to ensure compliance with contractual, Company, and regulatory requirements.
- Analyze non-conformance trends to evaluate the effectiveness of corrective actions.
- Performs benchmarking and other forms of analysis to ensure specified process capability levels are achieved.
- Participates in various reviews to ensure quality attributes are incorporated into product designs.
The QA Representative is also the primary interface for streamlining internal and external communication and driving visibility and ownership within the program /projects.
Position Responsibilities- Leads integration of contractual and Boeing Quality Management System requirements into all aspects of proposals and program processes and documentation
- Provides interpretation of complex requirements
- Develops quality metrics, design and production certification plans for large programs to ensure compliance with contractual, Company and regulatory requirements
- Develops Quality criteria to support supplier selection activities
- Leads various reviews to ensure quality attributes are incorporated into product designs
- Develops and selects methods for analysis, testing and audit to ensure manufacturing and test readiness
- Assists in development of new standards repairs for non-conformances
- Analyzes non-conformance trends to evaluate effectiveness of corrective actions
- Develops and implements corrective actions
- Performs benchmarking and other forms of advanced analysis to ensure specified processes capability levels are achieved
- Works under minimal direction.
- Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
- 5+ years of experience with quality systems (e.g., Boeing Quality Management System (BQMS), International Organization for Standardization (ISO
9001), Aerospace Standard (AS9100) - 5+ years of experience in data analysis and Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA)
- 5+ years of experience in leading or managing projects and/or teams
- Level 5:
More than 10 years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience - 3+ years of experience performing quantitative or statistical analysis, data collection, preparation and interpretation
- Experience in aerospace manufacturing
- Software Quality experience
- 1+ year of experience performing audits
Position may require travel up to 10% of the time.
