Position: Full Time Scan Coordinator

Summary

Primary responsibility is to take excellent care of our customers by satisfying each customer’s needs and exceeding their expectations. This requires maintaining price file, shelf tag accuracy, and signs for the entire store.

Customer Service

Initiate interaction with customers on the sales floor, ask about their shopping needs, provide information needed to meet their taste and meal requirements, and follow through on customer requests.

Always demonstrate the highest level of customer service. Never be rude to a customer under any circumstance. Bring in department management or the manager‑on‑duty if you cannot say “yes” to a customer’s request. Never turn down business.

Make eye contact with and smile at every customer. Speak to customers in a genuine, clear, and enthusiastic manner and ask if they found everything they were looking for.

Reflect an appropriate business image: dress, grooming, and personal cleanliness in accordance with company policy.

Reliability & Attendance

Be reliable and punctual by reporting for work on time and as scheduled. If absent or late, notify your supervisor or manager‑on‑duty at least two (2) hours in advance.

Store Operations

Maintain price accuracy, shelf tag accuracy, and sign program for the entire store according to company standards, reaching heights from 6 to 72 inches and using ladders when necessary.

Execute price file maintenance, ensure required scan accuracy, perform file maintenance manually when appropriate, and carry out new load procedures required.

Conduct aisle scans and MSI price checks in accordance with company standards using appropriate equipment and technology.

Create and order shelf tags and signs as appropriate, and maintain a history of scan errors and items not in system.

Maintain history on temporary price reductions and ensure regular prices are effective when appropriate.

Comply with state and local ABC laws and Department of Agriculture (weights and measures) regulations.

Communicate in English with customers and associates about requests, current sales promotions, marketing campaigns, and essential products. Take customers to product locations when asked.

Inform management of missing items, incorrect prices, missing signs, departmental changes, and other situations as appropriate.

Understand overall store operations, adapt to changing priorities, be flexible, and perform multiple tasks.

Provide assistance to fellow associates with truck unloading, deliveries, inventory, restocking, display organization, and other duties as assigned.

Follow all safety regulations, report accidents or hazards immediately, and record incidents in the designated log.

Handle, mix, and apply chemicals in accordance with the Hazard Communication Program Manual.

Be knowledgeable of fixed activities during light business such as sweeping, cleaning, blocking, straightening.

Establish a working and shopping environment of trust, respect, and integrity.

Support and assist fellow associates, be a team player, be open to new ideas and opportunities, and follow through on special requests or recommendations from management.

Comply with company standards, policies, and procedures and perform essential job functions throughout scheduled hours.

Qualifications
  • Minimum age 18 years.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED). One to three months related experience or training is acceptable.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and willingness to participate in training that increases customer satisfaction and sales.
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and write simple instructions and correspondence in English.
  • Ability to present information in one‑on‑one and small group situations to customers and associates who only speak English.
  • Mathematical skills: add and subtract two‑digit numbers, and perform operations using units of American money and weight measurement.
  • Reasoning ability: apply common‑sense understanding to carry out written or oral instructions and solve problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
