Join a leading provider of mission-critical facility services as an HVAC Technician 3 in Herndon, VA. As the lead technician, you will play a key role in ensuring the reliability and performance of mechanical systems supporting data center operations. This position offers the opportunity to work with advanced HVAC equipment, mentor junior technicians, and contribute to the success of high-profile projects.

- Serve as the lead technician for all mission-critical mechanical services and maintenance under contract.
- Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and emergency repairs on a wide range of HVAC equipment, including air and water-cooled chillers, centrifugal and screw package chillers, natural gas boilers, unit heaters, electric duct heaters, cooling towers, and various water pumps.
- Work with pneumatic, DDC, and variable frequency drive controls, as well as HVAC air distribution systems such as AHUs, FCUs, and fans.
- Maintain, upgrade, and back up Building Automation Software as required.
- Monitor compliance with contractual commitments and ensure high standards of service delivery.
- Provide guidance, leadership, and training to junior technicians, supporting their technical development.
- Participate in on-call rotations and respond to after-hours assignments as needed.
- Travel up to 50% to job sites as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
- Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Successful completion of a basic air conditioning theory class.
- Minimum of 7 years of large commercial HVAC service experience required; 8 years preferred.
- Proficient in the use of HVAC diagnostic tools and instruments.
- Experience with DDC, pneumatic, and variable frequency drive controls.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office or related software.
- Ability to supervise and mentor technicians of lower grade levels.
- Ability to travel up to 50% to job sites.
- Ability to satisfactorily complete any required client background checks or training.
- Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Universal Certification preferred.
- VA Journeyman HVAC license preferred.
- OSHA Certification preferred.
- Clear and valid Virginia or Maryland driver’s license required.
- U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain security clearance preferred.
