Overview
Supporting the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Office of Biometric Identity Management (OBIM) with software development and application enhancements efforts on the Mission Systems Lifecycle Support (MSLS) Program using Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe), Kanban and Dev Sec Ops processes. GDIT is excited to offer you a unique opportunity to join an Agile team utilizing CI/CD pipeline to support one our nation’s most critical homeland missions – the storage and processing of biometric and associated biographic information for national security, law enforcement, immigration and border management, intelligence, background investigations, and associated testing, training, management reporting, planning and analysis.
We are seeking a highly motivated Engineer to join our growing team to develop, support, and modernize mission-critical applications for our DHS customer. The successful candidate will help to develop, deploy, and maintain mission-critical applications. You will also provide support and technical advice during conceptualization, development, and implementation phases to transform requirements to working solutions. This includes involvement with users to define system scope and objectives, as well as contributing to design decisions.
Responsibilities- Use Java and Go Language development experience to develop, deploy, and maintain mission-critical applications
- Provide support and technical advice during conceptualization, development, and implementation phases to transform requirements to working solutions. This includes involvement with users to define system scope and objectives, as well as contributing to design decisions.
- Work on new development and re-engineering efforts, including making system design decisions
- Implement enhancements to existing system in addition to coordinating with other developers working in parallel and perform QA/testing as needed
- Provide software development services on all tiers (UI, Java)
- Dev Ops tools such as Git, Jenkins, Maven
- Java Web Services / Spring Boot / Java EE
- Web Development / UI Frameworks / HTML / Java Script
- Relational Database experience (RDBMS)
- Database programming using SQL / Postgre
SQL DB / MySQL - Experience with test driven development
- Experience with Cloud and AWS Administration
- Supporting set up of AWS Infrastructure
- Experience with Red Hat/Open Shift version 4.x
- Understanding and preferable experience in with Dev Ops Scrum/agile project lifecycle approach to software development
- U.S. Citizenship
- DHS HQ EOD required to start; must be able to obtain DHS HQ Final Suitability
- Bachelors degree or equivalent and 5+ years of development experience
- Experience with GoLang and Java programming languages
- Dev Ops tools such as Git, Jenkins, Maven
- Java Web Services / Spring Boot / Java EE
- Web Development / UI Frameworks / HTML / Java Script
- Knowledge with end-to-end fully-automated CI/CD pipelines, from code commits to production
- Relational Database experience (RDBMS)
- Experience in Docker, AWS Admin Red Hat/Open Shift v4.x
- Experience in Agile development methodology
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent and 10+ years of development experience
- Proven track record as a self-learner keeping current with the latest techniques to include automated code scanning, automated testing, continuous integration and continuous deployment concepts
- Experience in Jira to support configuration management in an Agile environment
- Experience with Gitlab/Git Hub
- Perform database programming and supports systems design
- Design and Develop system level changes
- Interface with client on technical design
- Experience with scrum/agile project lifecycle approach to software development
- Strong written and verbal communication along with proven fluency of English
- Reviewing modifications of existing systems for cross-compatibility

The likely salary range for this position is $142,792 - $163,300. This is not, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Salaries are set based on experience, location and contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
