Software Engineer, Cloud Engineer - Software

- Design, develop, and maintain features for a big data analytics platform
- Build responsive front-end applications and scalable backend APIs/services
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features
- Optimize applications for performance, scalability, and reliability
- Integrate with large-scale data pipelines and distributed systems
- Write clean, maintainable, and well‑tested code
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to engineering best practices
- Work onsite in a SCIF environment 80% or as needs dictate in either Herndon, VA or Westminster, CO
- Must be a U.S. Citizen with an active TS/SCI with CI poly (or willingness to obtain a CI poly)
- 8+ years of technical experience in:
- Front-end frameworks (e.g., React, Angular, or Vue)
- Backend development (e.g., Python, Java, Java script, R, Node.js, or similar)
- Designing and consuming RESTful APIs
- Databases (SQL and/or No
SQL)
- Capable of working effectively with a geographically distributed ops & development team
- Communicate effectively with customers and team in written and oral forums
- Degree or equivalent demonstrated experience in a technical field such as Computer Science, Engineering, Math, GIS.
- Strong Linux skills and familiarity with hybrid cloud/on‑prem architecture, AWS, C2S, Openstack, etc.
- Understanding of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Experience with big data technologies (e.g., Spark, Kafka, Hadoop)
- Experience with big data technologies such as Kubernetes, Spark, Hive, and/or Hadoop, Accumulo, Elastic Search
- Experience with Apache NiFi, Apache Airflow, or Kafka
- Experience working with open‑source resources in a government computing environment
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and Dev Ops practices
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Pay TransparencyThe base pay for this position within California, Colorado, Hawaii, New Jersey, the Washington, DC metropolitan area, and for all other states is: $125,000 - $145,000.
