Amazon Web Services is building some of the largest distributed systems in the world. AWS database offerings like Aurora, Dynamo

DB, EMR, Open Search, RDS, and Redshift are massively scaled services that form a critical piece of the internet today. A successful engineer joining the team will work with Amazon's largest and most demanding customers to address needs across a full suite of services, dive deep into technical issues, and improve the customer experience.

• Have strong Linux & Networking Fundamentals. Deep experience with Linux in large-scale, distributed environments; understanding of networking and how servers and networks inter-relate; experience in deep-dive troubleshooting and post-mortem discussions to identify root causes.
• Love to code. Proficient in building tools in Java or solving complex system problems in Python; solid understanding of software development methodologies and choosing the right tool for the job.

This position requires that the candidate possess and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance. After start, the candidate must obtain and maintain an active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph or commensurate clearance for each government agency for which they perform AWS work.

• Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Python, Ruby, Golang, Java, C++, C#, Rust
• 2+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• 1+ years of designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems
• Bachelor's degree, or CSSLP (Certified Secure Software Lifecycle Professional)
• Knowledge of systems engineering fundamentals (networking, storage, operating systems)
• Current, active US Government Security Clearance of Top Secret or above

• Experience with distributed systems at scale
• 7+ years of administrative experience in networking, storage systems, operating systems and hands-on systems engineering
• Experience with Power Shell (preferred), Python, Ruby, or Java
• Experience working in an Agile environment using the Scrum methodology

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package includes sign-on payments and RSUs. Final compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and location.
