Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Java Software Engineer to support a Government Consulting company located in Herndon VA through 100% onsite work
. The Java Software
Engineer will provide Agile Dev Ops support for mission‑critical systems while developing, maintaining, and enhancing enterprise software, cloud environments, and operational tools.
- Develop and maintain software systems, tools, and applications within a Dev Ops environment
- Support the full software development lifecycle, including scoping, design, coding, testing, and implementation
- Deliver Agile Dev Ops support for mission‑critical and cloud‑based systems
- Contribute to the design, development, and testing of customer solutions
- Oversee operations and maintenance activities for essential systems
- Experience with Java software development
- Knowledge of Dev Sec Ops practices and methodologies
- Understanding of containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, etc.)
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and tools (Jenkins, Git Lab CI/CD, Azure Dev Ops)
- Background working within Agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban)
- Experience with cloud services (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Active TS/SCI clearance required with the ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI Poly
- Full‑stack and web development experience
- Experience designing/documenting microservice‑based architectures
- Experience with relational and No
SQL databases - Background in distributed systems
- Skills in debugging or testing web applications and services
- Experience with IaC tools (Terraform, Ansible)
- Understanding of security best practices (vulnerability scanning, penetration testing)
- Salary:
Up to $200,000, (some flexibility depending on experience) - Comprehensive Benefits:
