Job Overview

We are seeking a Software Development Engineer to join our S3 Fleet Management team. In this role, you will build and enhance AWS S3 Fleet Automation software, driving the next generation of cloud‑based, fleet‑agnostic automation solutions. You will lead technical efforts, support internal AWS customers, and tackle challenges of scale, performance, and efficiency.

Utility Computing (UC) provides product innovations for core services such as Amazon S3, EC2, and others. As a member of the UC organization you’ll support development and management of Compute, Database, Storage, IoT, Platform, and Productivity Apps services, including security solutions.

• Design, implement, deploy, and maintain innovative software solutions to transform service performance, durability, cost, and security.
• Use Java and Java‑based frameworks and software engineering best practices to ensure high quality of team deliverables.
• Write high‑quality distributed system software.
• Work in an agile development environment, focusing on the most important tasks.
• Mentor junior software development engineers.

• 3+ years of non‑internship professional software development experience.
• 2+ years of non‑internship design or architecture experience for new and existing systems.
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language.

• 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.

Base salary range: $ - $ USD annually. Your Amazon package will include sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs).
