Software Development Engineer, US Amazon Dedicated Cloud Security

AWS Security is looking for a driven professional to join its US ADC Security Engineering team to support the development of tools and automation for Amazon Dedicated Clouds (ADCs) and Cleared Programs. As a Software Development Engineer (SDE), you will be responsible for the development, operations, and overall health and security of the critical services we support, providing excellent customer service to our partners in a classified environment.

• Architect and implement enterprise‑scale security solutions from conception to production
• Design and develop high‑availability distributed software with emphasis on security, scalability, and fault tolerance
• Architect and implement zero‑trust security models for critical infrastructure components
• Design and build custom APIs and middleware solutions for security system integration
• Develop advanced automation frameworks for infrastructure as code (IaC) deployment and configuration management
• Create sophisticated monitoring and alerting systems using machine learning for anomaly detection
• Implement cryptographic solutions for secure communication between distributed systems
• Design and implement custom authentication and authorization protocols
• Lead technical design reviews and security architecture assessments
• Mentor junior engineers and establish technical best practices

• 3+ years of non‑internship professional software development experience
• 2+ years of non‑internship design or architecture experience (design patterns, reliability, and scaling)
• Bachelor's degree or CSSLP (Certified Secure Software Lifecycle Professional)
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language
• Current, active TS/SCI US Government Security Clearance
• US citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain TS/SCI clearance with polygraph

• 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
