Our client is seeking a Senior Data Engineer / Technical Lead to support mission‑critical cyber and network operations within the Department of War and Intelligence Community. In this role, you will design, build, and optimize data pipelines that transform complex, high‑volume data into actionable intelligence supporting national security efforts.

Qualified Senior Data Engineer should have the below skills:

• 9+ years of experience in data engineering, software engineering, or related technical fields and a Bachelors in a related field
• Strong experience designing and building ETL pipelines and data ingestion frameworks
• Hands‑on experience with Kafka, NiFi, and AWS (S3, SQS)
• Proficiency in Java with experience in unit and integration testing
• Secret clearance and a DoD 8570 IAT II certification (or higher)

Applicants may be required to complete a coding challenge during the interview process per customer requirements.

This work supports a hybrid work model with 1-2 days onsite (Columbia, MD) a week; the remainder will be remote. Candidates must be a US Citizen with an active TS/SCI level government clearance. Salary for this role is between $133,000 – $238,000, depending on experience, clearance level, location, and contract requirements.
