Software Development Engineer – EC2, Outposts, EC2 Outposts

Work with AWS Outposts to manage network routing between Outposts and associated AWS regions, enabling high‑performance and fault‑tolerant communications. Your responsibilities include performing packet transformations and validations, setting up and managing network configurations, pushing those configurations to other Outpost services, inspecting packets, and operating the logical interconnect virtual router that connects Outposts with customer on‑premise networks. You will join a start‑up‑like team within a large enterprise, building low‑level networking systems at scale, handling on‑call duties (normally one week every two months), and participating in rigorous code‑review processes.

• 3+ years of professional software development experience (non‑internship)
• 2+ years designing or architecting systems (design patterns, reliability, and scaling)
• 1+ year as a software development engineer or similar occupational role
• 1+ year designing and developing large‑scale, multi‑tiered, multi‑threaded, embedded or distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services with C#, C++, Java, or Perl experience
• 1+ year of object‑oriented design experience
• Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language

• 3+ years covering the full software‑development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, testing, and operations
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent
