About the role: As a software sustainment engineer, you play a pivotal role in an application’s functional life. From troubleshooting to fixing bugs, you use your operations and maintenance skills to ensure that things run smoothly. You will apply your knowledge to our clients’ challenges and their legacy enterprise systems.
Key responsibilities:
- Maintain and support applications and hosted systems.
- Use programming and scripting languages to enhance, maintain, troubleshoot operational issues, and upgrade systems to meet security requirements.
- Advise clients on opportunities to improve and modernize existing systems, ensuring critical systems remain secure while evolving.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams, lead design and code reviews, and address findings.
Required qualifications:
- 6+ years of experience with software development, building systems and applications within an Agile environment
- 3+ years of experience with legacy enterprise systems and working in a microservices or distributed application environment
- Experience with workflows, web parts, site maintenance, APIs, and cloud platforms
- Experience with basic programming languages, including Python, technologies, tools, or web development stacks and designing and debugging applications
- Experience creating and testing modules and components for compliance with design specifications
- Experience developing and testing interfaces between software products and products of other vendors
- Knowledge of source control systems such as Git
- Ability to lead design and code reviews and address findings within a collaborative, cross‑functional team
- TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph
- High school diploma or GED
Nice to have:
- Experience with Java, Python, JavaScript, React, Angular, and NodeJS
- Experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform
- Knowledge of shell scripting and automation
- Knowledge of Dev Ops, continuous integration, and continuous deployment
- Knowledge of relational and hierarchical data structures or functional programming
- Master’s degree in IT or Software Development
Clearance: Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. TS/SCI clearance with polygraph is required.
Compensation: Salary range is $86,800.00 to $ (annualized USD), plus benefits that include health, life, disability, financial, and retirement benefits, paid leave, professional development, tuition assistance, work‑life programs, and dependent care. Full‑time and part‑time employees working at least 20 hours a week are eligible for Booz Allen’s benefit programs.
