Systems Development Engineer II, AWS Cross Domain Services; CDS

Systems Development Engineer on the AWS Cross Domain Services team will help operate and scale the services that connect AWS regions with differing security requirements. The role focuses on ensuring high availability and operational excellence for U.S. Government agencies while leveraging advanced cloud computing technologies.

• Operate, automate, and troubleshoot complex systems in partnership with software development peers.
• Develop tools and services to improve deployment and release automation.
• Build and maintain test fleets and perform functional, regression, and stress testing on software.
• Monitor production software and define performance and reliability metrics.
• Ensure services meet and exceed the operational excellence bar for cross‑domain environments.
• Maintain a U.S. Citizen status and an active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph.

• 2+ years of designing or architecting new and existing systems (design patterns, reliability, and scaling).
• 4+ years of experience in site reliability engineering, systems engineering, systems administration, Dev Ops, security administration, or network administration.
• Proficiency in Linux and networking protocols, or experience with software development and scripting (Batch, VB, Power Shell, Java, C#, Chef, Perl, Ruby, or PHP).
• Current, active U.S. Government security clearance of TS/SCI or higher.

• Experience utilizing AWS cloud solutions in a Dev Ops environment.
• Experience developing and delivering security software tools.
• Experience with server, storage, networking, or large‑scale distributed systems.
• Current, active U.S. Government security clearance of TS/SCI with polygraph.
