System Development Engineer II, Platform Engineering and Emerging Technologies

We are seeking a System Development Engineer to support AWS Cryptography and PKI Services. The role involves designing, deploying, monitoring, and automating infrastructure, tools, and systems to deliver a highly available and resilient platform for U.S. Government agencies and internal teams.

• Design, deploy, monitor, and automate infrastructure, tools, and systems to provide a highly‑available and resilient platform for our customers and teams.
• Participate in on‑call rotations, typically one week in every six, to troubleshoot and resolve root causes, ensuring systems are fault‑tolerant.

• Bachelor's degree, or Certified Secure Software Lifecycle Professional (CSSLP).
• 2+ years of professional software development experience (non‑internship).
• 1+ year of experience designing or architecting reliability and scalability for new or existing systems.
• Knowledge of systems engineering fundamentals (networking, storage, operating systems).
• Experience programming with at least one modern language such as C++, C#, Java, Python, Go, Power Shell, or Ruby.
• Current, active U.S. Government security clearance at Top Secret with SCI eligibility (or higher). Must currently possess an active TS/SCI clearance and, after start, obtain and maintain TS/SCI clearance with polygraph or commensurate clearance.

• Experience with distributed systems at scale.
• Experience with Linux/Unix.

The base salary range for this position is $ – $ annually, depending on location. Your Amazon package will include sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and location.
