Java Software Engineer​/Kubernetes; TS​/SCI Clearance Required

Position: Java Software Engineer / Kubernetes (TS/SCI Clearance Required)
North Point Technology is hiring a Software Engineer to augment our Framework Services team, with a focus on Resiliency work supporting the NGA customer mission. The selected candidate will develop and integrate software across a Java and Kubernetes environment, troubleshoot COTS/FOSS solutions, and complete a customer crossover and briefing before starting on program. The ideal candidate has strong software development fundamentals and hands-on experience delivering and supporting mission software.

Responsibilities:

This position supports building, integrating, and sustaining software across all Framework Services teams. Duties include Java development, deploying and operating containerized services on Kubernetes, integrating and supporting COTS and FOSS products, troubleshooting across LINUX and Windows environments, and partnering with internal teams to strengthen system resiliency.

Required Skills/Experience:

• Java software development experience
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes
• Experience integrating and supporting COTS and FOSS software
• Experience working across LINUX and Windows operating system environments

Preferred Skills/Experience:

• Agile development, Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe), and Version One
• Front-end development with Angular, DOJO, HTML, and Java Script
• Relational database development with Oracle, PostgreSQL, SQL, and PL/SQL
• Web services and microservices using EJB, REST, and XML
• Container build and deployment with Docker
• CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins, Git, and JIRA
• Distributed messaging and coordination with Kafka, Zookeeper, and Consul
• Automated UI testing with Selenium
• Software modeling with UML using Eclipse or Net Beans
• Big data ingest and streaming with JSON, Kafka, and Elasticsearch
• Hadoop analytics with HIVE, Spark, PIG, OOZIE, IMPALA, and HUE
• ELK stack:
  Elasticsearch, Logstash, and Kibana

  SQL and cloud data stores with MongoDB and MySQL RDS
• Configuration management with Chef

Qualifications:

• Active Top Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain SCI post hire
