Application Developer

Piper Companies is looking for an Application Developer to join a government contractor supporting a national security initiative. This role requires an active Top Secret Clearance and the ability to report onsite to the client location in Herndon, VA.

• Apply appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the development life cycle.
• Use knowledge of computer hardware and software, subject matter, and information processing techniques to develop solutions for business/mission applications.
• Correct program errors, compile documentation of program development, and analyze system capabilities to resolve questions of program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques, and controls.
• Ensure software standards are defined and met.

• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• 2‑10 years of professional Java development experience.
• Proven ability to work with XML and experience in COTS/FOSS integration and support.
• Ability to troubleshoot and navigate multiple operating system environments including Linux and Windows.
• Experience with Angular and Kubernetes is a huge plus.
• Active Top Secret security clearance required.

• $130,000 – $150,000+ (based on experience).
