- Support Peraton’s Internal Research & Development (IRAD) program
- Work on advanced research projects in communications, space, cybersecurity, defense, public safety, and health
- Support requirements and story development
- Contribute to software architecture and design
- Perform software development
- Conduct unit and component testing
- Work in an Agile software development environment
- Collaborate with full-time staff in Strategic Innovation Centers
- Commit to the full ten‑week June–August program and work 35–40 hours per week
- U.S. Citizenship
- HS Diploma and some advanced level training
- Progress toward a bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a related field
- Foundational experience in an object‑oriented programming language, preferably Java
- Exposure to software engineering processes
- Familiarity with software development and/or scripting languages such as Java, Python, C++, and Bash
- Hands‑on programming experience through coursework and/or prior internships
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
- Ability to quickly adapt and learn new technologies and concepts
- Self‑motivated, independent, detail‑oriented, responsible team‑player
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- 3.0 and above GPA (desired)
- Exposure to Agile software development processes (desired)
- Familiarity with web development frameworks and/or database technologies (desired)
- Exposure to cloud computing environments (desired)
Demonstrates foundational experience in Object-Oriented Programming, particularly in Java, along with exposure to Agile software development processes. Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills are essential for collaboration in advanced research projects across various domains.
