Providence Hall seeks a highly skilled and enthusiastic elementary (K-5th) part-time multilingual learner (ML) interventionist (non-sPED paraprofessional) to join our team. As an elementary (K-5th) part-time multilingual learner (ML) interventionist (non-sPED paraprofessional), you provide classroom support to teachers by implementing interventions to individual limited English proficient (LEP) students or small groups of LEP students as part of our multi-tiered system of supports (MTSS).

Schedule:

  • Up to 24 hours/week during the school year on days when students are present
  • May need to attend some department, building, and LEA professional development, trainings and meetings

Responsibilities:

  • Consult and collaborate with teachers and the Multilingual Learner (ML) Coordinator and Assessment & Intervention Director to prepare interventions to meet the needs of individual limited English proficient (LEP) students.
  • Assist teachers in diagnosing strengths/weaknesses of LEP student and then align outcomes with techniques and materials to increase skills.
  • Work with the teacher to monitor student progress.
  • Implement ML interventions in small groups and one-on-one settings.
  • Efficiently use the various assessment platforms used at the school to interpret data for positive student outcomes.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to support the MTSS process and support the school in general.
  • Maintain effective communication channels with students, parents/guardians, and colleagues to ensure a collaborative learning community.
  • Actively participate in assigned meetings, professional developments, and other trainings.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Have a high school diploma or equivalent, and meet one of these qualification pathways:
    • Complete at least 48 college semester hours (2 years of higher education), OR
    • Earn an associate degree or higher, OR
    • Pass a rigorous state-approved assessment demonstrating the ability to assist in: reading, writing, mathematics, and/or readiness skills.
  • Bilingual Spanish speaker preferred.
  • Previous experience working with children, in an instructional setting preferred.
  • Good organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to multi-task.
  • Positive interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to maintain calm in high-stress situations.
  • Willing to effectively problem-solve as needed.
  • Basic knowledge of Google Workspace and its collaboration tools.
  • Capacity to perform all the responsibilities listed in this posting.
  • Must pass a comprehensive background check, including criminal history, and professional references as a condition of employment.
  • Lift up to 25 pounds, traverse school facilities, and lead students to safety in the event of an emergency.
