About the RoleThe Skilled Laborer performs a variety of field construction and maintenance tasks under the supervision of higher-level employees. Work includes general labor, equipment operation, job site preparation, and support during absences and vacations. The position is primarily outdoors and may involve traveling to remote job sites.
Responsibilities- Assist crews with general labor tasks.
- Operate equipment and prepare job sites.
- Support extra workloads and adapt to changing production and weather conditions.
- Follow safety procedures and PPE requirements.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Valid state driver’s license.
- OSHA 10 safety training required; must be completed within 30 days of hire for Levels I & II, or prior to promotion for Level III.
- Minimum hours:
Level I (entry), Level II (2,000 hours), Level III (3,000 hours). - Minimum 18 years of age.
- Outdoor work in heat, cold, noise, and dust.
- Remote sites with frequent travel and occasional overtime.
- Must wear company-required PPE: hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, high-visibility vest, steel-toed boots, and additional gear as needed.
- Prolonged standing/walking, lift up to 80 pounds, push or pull 50-pound loads.
- Manual dexterity to operate hand and power tools.
