Senior Full Stack AI Engineer

Our partner is an established SaaS technology organization whose platform helps legal and accounting professionals operate their businesses. The company is modernizing a mature product while continuing to serve active customers, creating an interesting challenge for an engineer who enjoys improving real software rather than starting with a blank canvas.

They are adding a senior, hands-on builder who uses AI as a meaningful part of daily development, not as an occasional shortcut. The goal is to move from idea to production faster while preserving the judgment, testing, and quality that dependable SaaS products require.

You’ll join an experienced technical team with an established architect and room to influence how complex features are shaped. Experience and Education:

• BS in Computer Science, Information Technology, Arts or equivalent experience/field
• 8+ years of hands-on software engineering experience building and supporting production applications.
• Proven experience developing customer-facing products within a mature SaaS environment.
• Demonstrated ownership of complex features from initial design through testing, deployment, and production support.
• Daily use of AI-assisted development across coding, testing, debugging, refactoring, code review, or technical design.
• Advanced experience with React and Type Script, supported by backend development using Node.js or .NET.
• Experience modernizing legacy application modules while maintaining quality, reliability, and service for active customers.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

• Own complex SaaS features from initial design through production deployment and ongoing support.
• Build production-ready applications across frontend, backend, API, and database layers.
• Modernize and rebuild legacy modules that are actively used by customers.
• Build and maintain backend services using Node.js, .NET, or the most appropriate technology for the product.
• Use AI-assisted development throughout design, coding, testing, debugging, refactoring, and documentation.
• Critically review, validate, modify, or reject AI-generated code based on established engineering standards.
• Translate business and product requirements into practical, maintainable software solutions.
• Collaborate with the existing architect and senior technical leaders on design decisions and implementation approaches.
• Create automated tests that protect application quality and support faster delivery.
• Diagnose production behavior using logs, application data, and observability tools.
• Improve application performance, scalability, reliability, and maintainability.
• Participate in code reviews and clearly communicate technical decisions and tradeoffs.
• Introduce reusable development practices that help the broader team deliver quality software more efficiently.
• Evaluate new frameworks, AI workflows, and engineering tools based on measurable product value.
