Registered Nurse -ICU-Day Shift

Position Summary

Responsible for providing professional nursing care to SIH patients.

• Associate, Diploma, Bachelor’s degree or Master’s in Nursing

• Current Illinois Registered Nurse license
• Current CPR/BLS Card
• Current ACLS card (within 6 months of hire)
• Current ACLS & PALS card (within 6 months of hire)
• Current TNCC or TNS (within 1 year of hire or residency graduation) – required effective 6/2026
• Current ECRN (within 24 months of hire or residency graduation) – required effective 6/2026
• Current ACLS, Fetal Monitoring, Monitoring, & NRP (within 6 months of hire)
• Current NRP (within 6 months of hire)

Technical

Experience:

• Assess patients to determine mental, physical, and spiritual needs.
• Establish a compassionate environment to provide emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients and families.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate an individual plan of care in collaboration with the multidisciplinary healthcare team.
• Provide in-health teaching and counseling to promote, attain, and maintain optimum health level of patients.
• Use clinical judgment and critical thinking to recognize, act on, and report changes in patient condition.
• Complete, accurate, and timely documentation in patient medical record.
• Provide input into development of policies and procedures to support patient safety and quality of care.
• Supervise and delegate responsibilities of licensed practical nurse and/or unlicensed assistant personnel.
• Serve as an advocate for the patient by communicating and collaborating with other health service professionals.
• Ensure timely completion of required education, competencies, and licensure.
• Float to other SIH nursing units within competency level.

Commensurate with experience: $31.25 to $49.06 per hour.
