Retail Sales Associate

Position Summary

We are seeking entry-level, full-time sales associates in our pawn store locations nationwide. The Pawnbroker / Retail Sales Associate partners with the entire staff of the store to ensure customer service on both the lending and retail sides of the business. The associate greets, engages, and interacts with customers in a positive and professional manner to process sales, loans, and other transactions.

The role involves working with a wide variety of products including jewelry, tools, electronics, and firearms (in FFL locations).

The position offers an hourly wage of $15.00 to $18.00 plus commission based on productivity. Payrates will not be below any applicable local minimum wage requirements.

• Paid vacation: one week after six months of service, an additional week after one year, and two weeks after each anniversary thereafter (up to 120 hours after five years). Adjustments made per state or local requirements.
• Paid sick/personal leave: 8 hours after six months, 16 hours each anniversary for years 2‑5, 24 hours after five years, adjusted per state/local requirements.

• Greets and interacts with all customers to build rapport and recommend appropriate financial solutions.
• Performs non‑management open/close procedures.
• Maintains sales floor cleanliness, stocking, and merchandise display.
• Processes sales and loan transactions per policies, procedures, and regulations.
• Handles cash and negotiable items per established policies.
• Answers incoming calls according to company standards.
• Communicates legal aspects of pawn and buy transactions to customers.
• Communicates respectfully with coworkers and managers.
• Co‑ordinates with staff to create a positive customer experience.
• Completes assigned training.
• Performs related duties as assigned.

• Willing and able to lift or carry up to 50 pounds.
• Willing and able to stand, stoop, walk, climb, push, pull, and lift for extended periods.
• Ability to work with firearms and obtain firearms certification.
• May assist customers outside the building and retrieve products from external storage areas.
• Minimum age 18 years old.
• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
• Strong desire to work with customers and be team‑oriented.
• Ability to multi‑task in a fast‑paced environment.
• Proficiency in basic math calculations.
• Cash handling experience preferred.
• Willing to work in multiple locations as business needs dictate.
• Willing to work a flexible retail schedule, including weekends and holidays.
• Computer literate and able to operate POS systems and common office machines.

The commission incentive plan is proprietary to First Cash. Pawnbrokers may earn 2 – 8 % commission based on the gross profit of personal performance. Details are provided during the interview process.
