* HERSHEY, PENNSYLVANIA (USA). Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center and Penn State University College of Medicine are seeking an academic Histocompatibility Laboratory Director, non-tenure track, clinician-educator or clinician-scientist, open rank. Candidates with fellowship training, board certification, or substantial experience in histocompatibility, immunogenetics, transplant immunology, HLA testing, molecular diagnostics, or clinical laboratory medicine are of primary interest for this position.

The successful candidate will practice at Hershey Medical Center and will provide medical and scientific leadership for the Histocompatibility Laboratory, including oversight of HLA typing, antibody testing, cross matching, transplant-related consultative services, quality assurance, regulatory compliance, multidisciplinary collaboration, resident and fellow education, and collaborative clinical or translational research.

Board certification or eligibility in Anatomic Pathology and Clinical Pathology, Clinical Pathology, or another appropriate specialty is preferred. Candidates may be MD, DO or PhD and must be qualified or eligible to serve as director of a clinical histocompatibility laboratory and must meet applicable regulatory, accreditation, and institutional requirements for laboratory directorship. Eligibility for medical licensure in Pennsylvania is required for physician candidates.

General clinical pathology service coverage will be required for MD or DO candidates. A competitive compensation plan, including a base salary, a generous incentive plan, and an excellent benefits package, are offered. The position does not offer J1 waiver or H1B sponsorship.

** We are a growing subspecialty practice at the qua ternary care academic hub:
** the Hershey Medical Center, Cancer Institute, and Children's Hospital. The successful candidate will join a strong, collegial department of 40 faculty members in Anatomic, Clinical, and Experimental Pathology and will contribute to the department's clinical pathology, laboratory medicine, transplant immunology, and histocompatibility services. The department offers a fully accredited residency program with 16 positions and four ACGME-accredited fellowship programs. Faculty members participate actively, holding several leadership roles, in undergraduate and graduate medical education, as well as graduate school teaching.

Support for collaborative and independent research, including intramural funding, professional development programs, and faculty mentoring, is provided.
