Academic Surgical Pathologist
HERSHEY, PENNSYLVANIA (USA). Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center and Penn State University College of Medicine are seeking an academic surgical pathologist, non-tenure track, clinician-educator or clinician-scientist, open rank. Candidates with fellowship training or experience in Head & Neck, Thoracic/Cardiac, Pediatric, Bone & Soft tissue, and/or Urologic pathology are of particular interest although applicants with broad surgical pathology experiences would also be considered.
Most faculty members practice in more than one subspecialty. The successful candidate will practice primarily at the flagship Hershey Medical Center.
Board certification or eligibility in Anatomic Pathology or Anatomic and Clinical Pathology and eligibility for medical licensure in Pennsylvania are required for the position. A competitive compensation plan, including a base salary, a generous incentive plan, and an excellent benefits package, is offered. The position does not offer J1 waiver or H1B sponsorship.
We are a growing subspecialty practice with an annual surgical pathology volume of approximately 45,000 cases at the qua ternary care academic hub- the Milton S. Hershey Medical Center, Penn State Cancer Institute, and the Penn State Golisano Children's Hospital. The successful candidate will join a strong, collegial department of 40 faculty members in Anatomic, Clinical, and Experimental Pathology. The department offers a fully accredited residency program with 16 positions and four ACGME-accredited fellowship programs.
Faculty members participate actively in undergraduate and graduate medical education, as well as graduate school teaching, holding several leadership roles. Support for collaborative and independent research, including intramural funding, professional development programs, and faculty mentoring, is provided.
