The Vascular Surgery Advanced Practice Provider (APP) will provide comprehensive clinical care to vascular surgery patients in both the inpatient and outpatient settings.

The Vascular Surgery Acute Care Physician Assistant will provide comprehensive clinical care to vascular surgery patients in both the inpatient and outpatient settings.

The APP will participate in a rotating monthly schedule, with dedicated periods of inpatient vascular surgery coverage and outpatient clinic coverage.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

• Provide inpatient vascular surgery coverage, including evaluation and management of new and established patients.
• Respond to and manage vascular surgery consultations in collaboration with the vascular surgery team.
• Perform daily patient assessments, develop and implement treatment plans, and coordinate ongoing care.
• Facilitate hospital discharges, including medication reconciliation, patient/family education, and follow-up planning.
• Provide outpatient vascular surgery clinic coverage, including patient evaluation, follow-up, and management of vascular conditions.
• Collaborate closely with vascular surgeons, APPs, nursing staff, and other members of the multidisciplinary care team.
• Communicate clinical findings, treatment plans, and changes in patient status with patients, families, and the healthcare team.
• Participate in care coordination and transitions of care across the inpatient and outpatient settings.

Schedule/Practice Model:

• Rotating monthly schedule between inpatient vascular surgery coverage and outpatient clinic coverage.
• Inpatient responsibilities include consultations, daily patient management, discharges, and coordination of care.
• Outpatient responsibilities include vascular surgery clinic visits and longitudinal patient follow-up.
• No operative responsibilities or scheduled operating room time.

Minimum Qualifications

• Physician Assistant:
  Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program and eligible for PA-C certification/licensure.
• Current or eligible state licensure and national certification appropriate to the APP role.
• ACLS and BLS certification.
• Strong clinical assessment, communication, and care coordination skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience in vascular surgery, general surgery, cardiothoracic surgery, or another surgical specialty.
• Experience managing complex vascular surgery patients in the inpatient or outpatient setting.
• Experience with inpatient consultations, hospital discharge processes, and postoperative patient management.ll>
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.
