The MHS Visual and Performing Arts (VPA) program allows students to learn a variety of instruments and explore their interests right on campus. They benefit from expert instruction, with the school covering the cost of instruments, equipment, and lessons.
PositionIndoor Percussion 1st Assistant – seasonal position for the upcoming winter indoor percussion season.
Responsibilities- Assist with recruitment and organization of the indoor percussion group.
- Conduct weekly rehearsals and provide small‑group instruction for battery and mallet instruments.
- Support the percussion instructor in planning and delivering lessons.
- High school diploma with percussion experience required.
- Preferred:
Bachelor’s degree in music (Percussion specialist). - Preferred:
Two or more years of teaching experience. - Preferred:
Strong marching band and/or drum corps experience. - Ability to interact positively and professionally with students of different ages and skill levels.
- Commitment to high student achievement and support for all students in a diverse, multicultural environment.
- High degree of integrity as a role model for MHS students.
Part‑time, seasonal – November through April (approximately 200 hours).
CompensationStipend: $3,922 – $5,098, determined by experience.
