Duration: 12 months contract.

• Assist on high complexity initiatives, lead work streams within larger initiatives, and/or lead low complexity initiatives.
• Develop and apply technical knowledge while sharing expertise within the functional area and cross‑functionally.
• Apply problem‑solving skills and critical thinking; communicate technical subject matter across functions and to management.
• Influence cross‑functional team members and build personal networks.

• Project Leadership – 90% of time.
• Product and Process Improvements Program Management – 10% of time.
• Lead product development projects that provide innovative new products in the chocolate space (formulation development, ingredient development, and product transformation interactions).
• Perform prototyping and development from bench‑top to pilot plant to full manufacturing scale.
• Interact closely with a cross‑functional group of technical, professional, and managerial staff of R&D, sales production, engineering, and marketing.
• Understand the business and financial impact of projects.
• Apply technical rigor and scientific principles and practices.
• Provide input for technical feasibility of new product concepts.
• Partner with Supply Chain to provide technical support to drive quality and value improvement in products and processes.
• Lead ingredient shortage mitigation work streams to minimize supply chain impacts.

• Experience leading innovation initiatives such as product development, quality improvement, cost improvement, technology validation, and process optimization.
• Ability to learn new technical knowledge and apply it during development and commercialization processes; specific knowledge in chocolate is a plus.
• Experience in learning and applying process platforms.
• Knowledge of technical disciplines (sensory, research, engineering, packaging).
• Demonstrated influencing skills.
• Administrative ability, decision‑making skills, financial understanding, business integration skills, and technical expertise.
• Problem‑solving and evaluation capabilities.
• Excellent troubleshooting, written and verbal communication skills.
• Comfortable with change and rapid pace.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a growth‑oriented business.

• BS in Food Science, Chemistry, Biology, Chemical Engineering, Food Process Engineering, Bioengineering, or related field with 2‑4 years applicable experience.
• Experience in chocolate production and/or innovation, and experience in a CPG environment is a plus.

• Making chocolate samples, analytical testing, supporting pilot plant runs, competitive assessment of products.
• 1‑3 years of relevant experience.
• Microsoft Office proficiency.
