The Sciamanna Lab at Penn State College of Medicine within the Department of Medicine in Hershey, PA is seeking a Part‑time Exercise Instructor. The Sciamanna Lab’s mission is to double the percentage of American adults who are physically active each week, from less than 10% to more than 20%. The role is a research support position that works with faculty and research study staff on exercise programs funded by the NIH, PCORI, and other federal, state, and university funders.
Responsibilities- Lead group exercise sessions for older adults, including balance and strength exercises.
- Attend meetings with faculty and research study staff to discuss scheduling, participant feedback, and implementation of the intervention.
- Collaborate with research study staff to oversee operations of the active research study and ensure program compliance with university policies.
- Perform other functions as assigned by Dr. Sciamanna.
- Experience leading group exercise sessions.
- Certification as an exercise instructor/trainer preferred.
- Previous experience in a research environment preferred.
- Detail‑oriented, enthusiastic about exercise/fitness, excellent interpersonal, communication, organizational, and writing skills.
