An opportunity exists for a Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Technologist I at Penn State Health - Milton S. Hershey Medical Center in Hershey, Pennsylvania. The technologist will be responsible for performing a variety of standardized imaging procedures, for setting up and adjusting related equipment and devices, and for maintaining related records under the direction of the Senior Imaging Staff. This is a part-time (60 hours biweekly), evening shift position.

If qualified per IRS policy, relocation allowance is authorized.

• Performs standardized imaging procedures ensuring accurate imaging as per defined protocols or under the direction of the radiologist/physician
• Ensures proper operation of the equipment safely while maintaining regulatory standards during all procedures
• Explains procedure and preparation to patient. Performs patient imaging by interacting with the patient using professionalism, courtesy, and safety guidelines
• Checks patient’s studies for completeness in the absence of the attending physician
• Maintains the area, supplies, and equipment in a neat, orderly, and prepared manner; performs room and equipment disinfection procedures
• Responsible for daily equipment calibration; reports equipment malfunctions and the need for adjustments and/or repair of equipment
• Trainees new technologists on new procedures or new equipment; oversees students, when applicable

• Must have MRI registry with American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification
