Job Summary

The Medical Assistant supports Medical Providers, Radiologic Technologists, and patients through a variety of tasks, including patient care management, organization, and communication. The position offers a minimum hourly rate starting at $17/hour, monthly incentive pay based on performance metrics, and a sign‑on bonus up to $2,000 for eligible applicants.
- High School Diploma or equivalent AND 1+ years of experience as a Medical Assistant in a Hospital, Primary Care, Emergency Department, or Urgent Care setting.
- OR Certified Medical Assistant (MA) at hire, including one of the following certifications:
- CCMA – Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (NHA)
- CMA – Certified Medical Assistant (AAMA or CHP)
- RMA – Registered Medical Assistant (AMT, AAH, or ARMA)
- NCMA – National Certified Medical Assistant (NCCT)
- NRCMA – Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant (National Association for Health Professionals)
- OR Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing, LPN, or LVN with a valid state license.
- OR EMT or Paramedic with state and/or national certification.
- CPOE certification required within 2 weeks of hire if MA certification is not obtained at hire.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) required at hire; obtained through the American Red Cross or American Heart Association.
- Knowledge of medical office management systems and procedures.
- Excellent time‑management skills and ability to multi‑task and prioritize work.
- Social perceptiveness and service‑oriented mindset.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and planning skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and patient management software.

- Conduct patient registration, including securing required paperwork, insurance documentation, and verifying eligibility.
- Process co‑pays and schedule patient appointments for the assigned center.
- Coordinate provider referrals to assigned specialists.
- Answer patient questions regarding care and keep them informed of status.
- Inform technical staff of patient flow.
- Prepare patients for examination: conduct interviews, verify information, record medical history, confirm purpose of visit, and perform preliminary vital signs.
- Conduct point‑of‑care testing as needed (flu, strep, urinalysis, ECG, HCG) and provide results to providers.
- Stock supplies and maintain exam rooms, front desk, and reception area; ensure providers have necessary supplies.
- Complete order sheets to maintain supply inventory levels and regularly check expiration dates.
- Maintain medical records and scan charts to patient files.
- Answer phone calls, collect and sort daily mail, and maintain reception area cleanliness.
- Conduct courtesy call‑backs for patient follow‑up.
- Perform opening and closing duties, including cashing out, end‑of‑day communication, and building security.
- Follow operating instructions to perform daily controls and calibration of equipment, maintain QA/QC logs, troubleshoot breakdowns, perform preventive maintenance, and submit repair tickets.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
