This is an opportunity for an experienced Critical Care APP to join a high-acuity cardiac critical care environment managing complex cardiovascular and surgical patients alongside an Intensivist team.
Schedule & AvailabilitySchedule: 3 shifts per week
Shift Length: 13 hours
Day Shift: 7:00 AM-8:00 PM
Night Shift: 7:00 PM-8:00 AM
Call: No call
Availability Required: Candidates must be available for a combination of day and night shifts, weekends, and holidays through March 2027.
Licensure & Certification RequirementsBoard Certification: Required
Pennsylvania License: Active PA license required
ACLS: Required
BLS: Required
IMLC: Not accepted
Critical Care ExperienceRequired Experience: Experienced Critical Care NP/PA with strong cardiac ICU experience.
Candidates should have specific experience managing patients requiring:
- VA ECMO
- VV ECMO
- Impella
- LVAD
- Cardiac transplant
The APP will primarily manage high-acuity cardiac critical care patients under the guidance of an Intensivist.
Responsibilities include:
- Daily patient rounding
- Ongoing critical care management
- Patient admissions
- Order entry
- Post-operative management
- Management of complex cardiac critical care patients
- Coordination of care with the Intensivist and multidisciplinary team
- Performance of critical care procedures
Expected procedural experience includes:
- Arterial line placement
- Central line placement
- Swan-Ganz catheter management/procedures
- IABP removal
Patients Per Shift: Approximately 8-12
Department Beds: 30
Admissions: Required
Rounding: Assigned rounding patients
