SUMMARY OF POSITION:
Penn State Health’s Pediatric Neurology group is seeking a Physician Assistant with an interest in headache, tic disorders, and epilepsy. The patient population includes newborns through 18 years of age.
This position is primarily outpatient with some inpatient responsibilities, including Emergency Department consultations and coverage of the Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU). The role will involve seeing referrals for new neurologic concerns as well as providing ongoing management of chronic conditions.
There are opportunities to develop new programs and areas of clinical practice based on the provider’s interests and expertise. The successful candidate will work alongside a supportive team of pediatric neurologists, Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants, care coordinators, and nursing staff.
Our collaborative practice environment includes an epilepsy monitoring unit, ketogenic diet team, neuromodulation team, and a dedicated team of epileptologists, providing an enriching opportunity to develop expertise in pediatric neurology.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S):
- Graduate of an AMA approved Physician Assistant Program or baccalaureate or higher degree program that meets licensure requirements in the State of employment
- National Certification in State of employment or in another State with reciprocity and licensure to practice in the State of employment
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
PREFERRED QUALIFICATION(S):
- Pediatric Physician Assistant experience preferred.
- Interest or experience in the evaluation and management of pediatric headaches, tic disorders, and epilepsy preferred.
- Experience caring for pediatric patients with neurologic conditions preferred.
- Interest in developing and expanding pediatric neurology programs and services preferred
