Senior Supply Planner – Hershey, PA (Preferred)

The primary purpose of a Senior Supply Planner is to develop and implement a master production schedule and inventory management strategy that supports customer service goals and achieves the company’s financial objectives.
MajorDuties & Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain system table settings, calendars, and attributes to create a constrained rough‑cut master planning schedule.
- Create an 18‑month feasible rough‑cut production schedule for finished goods and SKU demands, ensuring alignment with sales goals, inventory financial targets, and product age minimization. Monitor and adjust the plan regularly.
- Transform rough‑cut schedules into shift‑level plans, coordinating with Operation Planners and incorporating business‑plan flexibility.
- Coordinate exception management to maintain product supply, assess manufacturing capacity needs, and communicate feasibility issues to internal customers. Act as project champion for intermediate items, review AGI reports monthly, manage product shortages, and work with stakeholders to develop solutions.
- Maintain finished‑good and intermediate inventory targets, manage item versions for packaging changes, investigate outlier inventory changes, support regional, resource, and seasonal builds, and identify safety‑stock rationalization opportunities.
- Support ATP and customer service level targets by ensuring accurate production data in JDA/SAP, reviewing ATP reports, and resolving ATP issues with Customer Service.
- Complete annual planning activities, set up Bills of Materials in JDA, conduct operational process analysis, and initiate continuous improvement activities for supply planning and strategic supply‑chain goals.
- Proven knowledge of Supply Chain Management Principles
- Strong experience with Supply Planning Systems
- SAP experience preferred
- Understanding of forecasting and its impact on supply planning
- Strong teamwork skills, including mentoring and training others
- Excellent communication skills; ability to interface with all levels across departments
- Proven analytical, mathematical, and problem‑solving skills – independence in problem resolution
- Proficient PC skills (MS Office suite)
Bachelor’s degree in Business Logistics, Business, Engineering, or a related field, with emphasis on Logistics or Supply Chain Management preferred. APICS or CPIM certification is helpful.
ExperienceMinimum of 2‑3 years progressive, related experience in production scheduling, inventory management, or supply/operations planning.
