Role DescriptionThe Splatter Paint/Axe Throwing Assistant is a part-time, on-site role located at Stumpy's Hatchet House in Hershey, PA. This role supports both splatter paint experiences and axe throwing sessions by setting up materials, maintaining a clean and safe environment, and guiding guests through basic instructions and safety rules. Day-to-day tasks include greeting and checking in guests, explaining activity guidelines, assisting with equipment and paint supplies, monitoring guest participation for safety, and resetting spaces between sessions.
The Assistant also helps with light cleaning, restocking, and customer service, ensuring guests feel supported, informed, and engaged throughout their visit. Evening and weekend availability is often required to meet guest demand.
- Ability to provide clear safety instructions, confidently address groups, and communicate in a friendly and professional manner.
- Customer service skills, including greeting guests, answering questions, and assisting individuals and groups with a positive attitude.
- Comfort working in an energetic, hands-on environment, including handling paint materials and axe throwing equipment responsibly.
- Strong attention to safety, with the ability to monitor activities, enforce rules, and respond calmly to issues or concerns.
- Basic organizational and time-management skills to manage session schedules, reset spaces, and keep materials stocked.
- Reliability and punctuality, with flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and peak times as needed.
- Ability to stand for extended periods, move equipment, and perform light cleaning and setup tasks.
- Previous experience in recreation, hospitality, entertainment, or customer-facing roles is preferred but not required.
