SUMMARY OF POSITIONPenn State Health is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider (APP) with clinical experience evaluating and managing general Orthopaedics patients in an outpatient clinic or hospital setting. The ideal candidate is confident in clinical decision-making, able to work autonomously, and comfortable treating patients of all ages (no age restrictions on licensure).
This is a true general Orthopaedics role offering the opportunity to see a wide variety of acute injuries. The APP will develop strong triage and treatment skills across a broad range of Orthopaedics conditions with a high level of independence, while having departmental support available for consultation and backup as needed.
Clinical Responsibilities Include- Evaluation and management of acute Orthopaedics injuries
- Joint injections and aspirations
- Reductions
- Casting and splinting
- APPs see AIC return visits in the morning
- Afternoon sessions are scheduled appointments (not walk-in), currently 1:00 PM — 6:00 PM
- Patient volume is controlled with a maximum of approximately 10 patients per afternoon session
- X-ray available on site
- No on-call requirements
- No weekend requirements
- No operating room (OR) time included
- Master’s Degree in Nursing
- National certification as an Advanced Practice Nurse
- Current license to practice as CRNP by Pennsylvania Board of Nurse Examiners Two (2) years’ work experience as a RN
- Basic Life Support Certification (BLS)
