As the Registered Nurse – Clinical Leader supporting the Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) Service Line in the Operating Room, you will help drive clinical excellence across a highly specialized surgical environment known for advanced procedures, collaborative practice, and outstanding patient outcomes.

What It’s Like to Work in the ENT and Plastics Operating Rooms at Hershey

Working within the ENT Operating Room service line at Hershey Medical Center means practicing in a fast-paced, technology-driven setting that supports both routine and highly complex surgical interventions.

Our teams support a broad range of procedures, including:

  • Head and neck oncology surgeries
  • Airway reconstruction and tracheal procedures
  • Cochlear implants and advanced otologic surgeries
  • Endoscopic sinus and skull base procedures
  • Pediatric and adult ENT surgical care
  • Reconstructive and microsurgical procedures
  • Facial trauma and craniofacial reconstruction
  • Oncologic and post-mastectomy reconstruction
  • Cosmetic and functional plastic surgery procedures

You will collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, advanced practice providers, speech and swallow specialists, and perioperative teams to ensure seamless, high-quality care.

As part of a Level I Adult and Pediatric Trauma Center and academic medical center, you will be exposed to complex airway cases, trauma-related ENT surgeries, and innovative techniques that reflect the leading edge of surgical science.

Role Summary

The Clinical Staff Leader ensures safe, high-quality clinical care delivery and optimal patient outcomes across the ENT Operating Room service line.

Responsibilities include providing direct clinical care while leading by example, serving as a role model for professional nursing practice, ensuring quality and safety in surgical care delivery, evaluating staffing models based on patient acuity and surgical volume, partnering with leadership to recommend operational and clinical improvements, and supporting staff engagement, development, and accountability.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S)
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or Master's Degree in Nursing required
  • Two (2) years clinical experience required
  • Progressive leadership experience required
  • Currently licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse by state of employment or holds a multistate RN license through the interstate Nurse Licensure Compact.
  • AHA BLS prior to end of orientation period
Preferred Qualifications
  • Minimum two (2) years Operating Room experience
  • Otolaryngology and Plastics experience preferred
  • Level 1 trauma center experience preferred
