Penn State Health is seeking an accomplished nursing executive to serve as Director of Nursing for the Hershey Outpatient Surgery Center (HOSC), a high-performing ambulatory surgery center dedicated to delivering exceptional surgical care in a patient-centered environment.

Reporting as a key member of the leadership team, the Director of Nursing provides strategic and operational oversight for all perioperative nursing services, ensuring the delivery of safe, efficient, and evidence-based care. This leader will drive clinical excellence, operational performance, regulatory compliance, workforce engagement, and continuous quality improvement across the center.

• Pre-Admission Testing / Pre-Op / PACU Manager

• Approximately 8,400 surgical cases annually
• 7 Operating Rooms
• Multidisciplinary clinical and operational teams

The Hershey Outpatient Surgery Center supports a diverse surgical portfolio, including:

• General Surgery
• Orthopedic Surgery
• Otolaryngology (ENT)
• Urology
• Gynecology
• Pain Management
• Ophthalmology
• Plastic Surgery
• Pediatric Surgery
• Provide strategic direction for perioperative nursing practice and patient care delivery.
• Foster a culture of patient safety, accountability, collaboration, and clinical excellence.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and organizational standards.
• Partner with physicians, anesthesia providers, and operational leaders to optimize surgical services and patient outcomes.
• Lead workforce planning, talent development, succession planning, and employee engagement initiatives.
• Drive operational performance through quality, safety, patient experience, and financial stewardship metrics.
• Champion process improvement and innovation to enhance efficiency and care delivery.

The successful candidate will be a visionary nursing leader with a proven record of success in perioperative services, ambulatory surgery, or surgical operations. They will possess strong business acumen, a commitment to quality and patient safety, and the ability to inspire high-performing teams while advancing organizational goals.

• Seven (7) Years Related Experience
• Five (5) Years Management Experience
• Currently licensed to practice as a registered nurse by state of employment or holds a multistate RN license through the interstate Nurse Licensure Compact
